The Garfield Moviepounced on the top spot at the US box office earning $14 million in ticket sales, and speeding ahead of last week's first place finisher Furiosa.
The animated adventure starring the voice of Chris Pratt as the incorrigible cat with a penchant for pizza also topped the global box office adding another $27 million in ticket sales for a worldwide total of $152.2 million, according to estimates from Box Office Mojo.
Both IF and Furiosa are estimated to have earned $10.8 million, with IF getting the slight edge.
As a result, second place went to theJohn Krasinski's imaginary friends fantasy starring Ryan Reynolds and Cailey Fleming. The family friendly frolic has now made more than $80.4 million domestically and $138 million worldwide.
The post-apocalyptic Furiosa, fell 59 percent from last weekend box office victory, adding slightly less than $10.8 million to the coffers, even though the two hour and 28-minute sci-fi thriller was showing in 3,864 theaters across the U.S. and Canada. Domestically, the movie has earned a total of $49.6 million.

The lackluster showing has resulted in ticket sales not yet covering the film's $168 million budget, in spite of an additional $114.4 million in global earnings.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes landed in fourth place in its fourth weekend with $8.8 million. It has now made $140 million domestically and $337.1 million globally.
The Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt action-comedy The Fall Guy,rounded out the top five with $4.2 million.
Globally, the film, which is now available for home purchases, has made $157.9 million.
The Strangers: Chapter 1 held on to sixth place.
Madelaine Petsch and Ryan Bown star as a couple terrorized by stranger after they are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin after their car breaks down.
The thriller scared up $3.6 million dollars its third week in theaters.
Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle opened in seventh place.
The movie, based on the Japanese high school volleyball series, received a 75-percent rating from critics and a 100-percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The animated dramady pulled in some $3.5 million.
In a Violent Nature, debuted in eighth place. The fright flick about a vengeful spirit who is resurrected dug up a $2.2 million payday.
