Guide - A Guide to Hypixel Skyblock (Part 1: Early to Mid Game) (2024)

Recently I've been really bored, so I decided to start this series!

Behold, presenting:

A Guide to Hypixel Skyblock: Part 1 - Early to Mid Game (Steps 1 - 100)

Now I'm not the best person at Skyblock, but this is how I progressed or how I'm willing to progress through the stages of the game.

So, (now for the stereotypical, cliche saying for some YouTubers) sit back, relax, AAAANND enjoy.

Every step something new happens.

Follow each step to become a Skyblock good person.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1: Punch a tree.

Step 2: Craft a crafting table.

Step 3: Go bridge to the Hub portal.

Step 4: Go to the Hub.

Step 5: Discover everything in the Hub.

Step 6: Talk to all NPCs in the Hub.

Step 7: Beg in the Hub for 10k coins.

Step 8 (my lucky number, even though I don't really believe in luck): Go to the Mine Merchant, buy a Promising Pickaxe.

Step 9: Go to the Weaponsmith, buy an Undead Sword.

Step 10: Go to the Library, and enchant your Undead Sword to have Smite V and your Pickaxe to have Efficiency V.

Step 11: Go to the Coal Mines, and mine to Mining level 1. Make sure you unlock the collection for Haste Potion (Coal III).

Step 12: Go to the Gold Mines, and mine to Mining level 5.

Step 13: [I don't believe in fortune (even though there is something called RNGesus), so I'm not going to skip this number] Go to the Deep Caverns, discover everything all the way to Obsidian Sanctuary, and mine to Mining 7. Make sure to reach the collection for Enchanted Redstone, and the collection for Hardened Diamond Armor.

Step 14: After mining, craft the redstone, lapis, and gold into minions and sell the rest for coins. Keep 3 diamonds and craft into a Diamond Pickaxe.

Step 15: With the money you earned, buy a full set of Lapis Armor on the Auction House. Make sure it is enchanted with Prot V, and sort by lowest price and BIN (buy it now).

Step 16: Remove cobblestone minion from island, place the minions you crafted from mining.

Step 17: Go to the Deep Caverns again, and go to the Pigmen's Den and kill pigmen until you reach Combat 5.

Step 18 (also my lucky number, maybe I'm starting to believe in luck after all ig?): After you are Combat 5, go to the Spider's Den, and then go to the Blazing Fortress.

Step 19: After you are at the Blazing Fortress, to the left of the entrance, there is a small parkour. Go over that and mine glowstone until you hit the collection for Enchanted Glowstone.

Step 20: Craft all the glowstone to Enchanted Glowstone.

Step 21: Go back to your island. You can use /warp home or /is as a shortcut.

Step 22: Go to the Hub. You can use /warp hub or /hub as a shortcut.

Step 23: Go to the Alchemist and buy a Brewing Stand, a Nether wart, and 3 Water Bottles.

Step 24: Go back to your island and place down the Brewing Stand.

Step 25: Put in the Water Bottles, followed by the Nether wart, followed by 1 Coal, followed by 1 Enchanted Glowstone, followed by 1 Enchanted Redstone.

Step 26: Go to the Gold Forger in the Gold Mines, and buy a stack of Gold. (or you can just mine Gold)

Step 27: Craft a Gold Axe.

Step 28: Go to the Forest.

Step 29: Drink 1 of your Haste II, 16 min potions, and then chop trees, using the Gold Axe, until you reach Foraging 1.

Step 30 (virus): Go to the Birch Park, chop trees until you can access the Spruce Woods.

Step 31: Go to the Spruce Woods, chop trees until you can access the Dark Thicket.

Step 32: Go to the Dark Thicket, chop trees until you can access the Savanna Woodland.

Step 33 (my friend's lucky number): Go to the Savanna Woodland, chop trees until you can access the Jungle Island.

Step 34: Go to the Jungle Island, chop trees until you hit these two goals: Foraging 7 and Jungle Wood IV.

Step 35: Sell all of the wood collected.

Step 36: Go to the Farm Merchant, buy a Rookie Hoe. Enchant it with Harvesting V and Telekinesis I.

Step 37: Go to the Farm, farm wheat until you hit Farming 1.

Step 38: Go to the Barn, chop Melons and Pumpkins (use Gold Axe) until you hit Farming 5.

Step 39: Go to the Mushroom Desert, chop the mushroom trees (use Gold Axe) until you hit Farming 10.

Step 40: Now you have unlocked the bazaar! Buy 24 enchanted Diamond. If you don't have enough, save up until you do. Once you have enough, craft them into Hardened Diamond Armor and enchant them with Prot V.

Step 41: Every quarter past a real life hour there'll be a Jacob's Farming Contest available. (ex. 10:15) Do a few and give it a try.

Step 42: The answer to life, the universe, and everything. (aka win 8 events and get Bronze) Cactus, Wheat, and Carrot are the easiest for early game. You can do these without a farm.

Step 43: Convert the 8 Bronzes to 4 Silvers. Convert the 4 Silvers to a Gold.

Step 44: Use the Gold Medal and your Jacob's Tickets collected from the events and buy a Pumpkin Dicer.

Step 45: Sell the Turbo-Crop books on the Auction House, and they often go up to around 90k - 120k coins. Times that by 8 and you'll make around 900k.

Step 46: Sell the rest of your Jacob's Tickets on the bazaar and you'll earn around 300k coins.

Step 47: Use the Money and buy yourself a Treecapitator on BIN. Don't pay higher than 1m.

Step 48: Keep on cutting trees until you reach Foraging 20, for Strength. Cut all types of trees for the collection.

Step 49: Sell the wood collected and the Treecapitator for 1m on BIN, and with the money buy an Aspect of the End, and all the Talismans at the Adventurer. Put all your accessories in your Accessory Bag. Reforge at Blacksmith to Forceful.

Step 50: Find all the Fairy Souls. This will take a long time, so get a lot of Ender Pearls from Bazaar, a Grappling Hook, and use your AOTE to teleport around. Refer to TimeDeo's video for Fairy Souls.

Step 51: Collect all your Redstone Minions. Keep them until you hit at least 30 spaces in your Accessory Bag. Get more accessories, preferably on the AH.

Step 52: Once your Treecapitator sold, buy yourself a God Potion in the AH. Deposit the rest of the money in the bank.

Step 53: Consume the God Potion, and go to the Crypts in the Graveyard and grind Crypt Ghouls until you hit Combat 12. Do not die, or else the God Pot's effects will disappear.

Step 54: Withdraw all your coins in the Bank (I assume around 400k by then).

Step 55: Buy yourself a full set of Ender Armor, reforge them to Fierce, and then enchant them with Prot V and Growth V.

Step 56: Go to the End, just to discover it. Leave immediately (or just mine Endstone for the collection, don't fight the Endermen), you are still not ready for it.

Step 57: Continue grinding Crypt Ghouls until you reach Combat 16. At Combat 14, you can start doing T2 or T3 Revenants, which increase your Combat level.

Step 58: After getting to Combat 16, buy yourself a full set of Unstable Dragon Armor. It should cost you about 700k in total. If you don't have enough, go back to doing Wheat, Carrot, or Cactus events.

Step 59: After buying Unstable Dragon Armor, reforge it to Fierce and go to the End. If you still have your God Pot effects, then just jump down into the hole. If not, buy another one and jump down.

Step 60: Head to the Dragon's Nest. Make sure you have your God Potion, and at least 20 Accessories reforged into Forceful. This reforge increases Strength.

Step 61: At this point I think you are pretty much ready to grind Zealots. There is a 1/420 chance to spawn a Special Zealot upon killing a Zealot. It will drop a Summoning Eye.

Step 62: Keep on grinding Zealots until you hit 5 - 6m. This means around 9 - 10 Summoning Eyes. How do you get the money? Sell it to the Bazaar.

Step 63: Let's assume you have 6m. Go into the Hub and start advertising, "Buying T11 Melon Minions for 350k each! /p me" and pretty soon people will start partying you. A better way to do this is to tell people to /visit you instead, because this way you will prevent Discord bot spammers, which are pretty common. Get 15 t11 Melon Minions, which equals around 5.2 million if you pay 350k each. (Clay Minions are also another option and are more common, but Melon is better. Refer to here) if people don't party you, raise the price to 400k.

Step 64 (We've hit a stack of steps! Keep going!): Buy 15 Enchanted Diamonds from bazaar and 15 stacks of Jungle Leaves from the Builder.

Step 65: In the Trades menu, trade all your Jungle Leaves for Vines, and craft the Vines and Enchanted Diamonds into Diamond Spreading. Once you have 15 Diamond Spreading, that's enough.

Step 66: Get 4 Super Compactors from the Bazaar with the money you have leftover (if you got 6m from Zealot grinding, 6m minus 5.2m equals 800k, which is around 3 to 4 Super Compactors for the current price.

Step 67: Craft more unique minions to unlock Minion Slots.

Step 68: Remove all the Redstone, Lapis, and Gold Minions, and sell the items collected for a profit.

Step 69 (the magic number, but now let's stop this lucky number nonsense): 6969 Place 6969 the 6969 Melon 6969 Minions 6969 down 6969 with 6969 the 6969 minion 6969 upgrades 6969 (Refers to Diamond Spreading and the Super Compactors.) 69696969696969

Step 70: Since you currently only have 4 Super Compactors, place them in the Melon Minions and put Compactors in the other minions. Use a Budget Hopper (iron collection) for every other minion.

Step 71: Check in every day to collect your minions.

Step 72: Buy Medium Storages for all your minions. Place them next to each minion.

Step 73: Once you have enough money, buy Super Compactors for each and every one of your Minions. Meanwhile, keep on grinding Zealots for money. Minions for passive income, Zealots for active income.

Step 74: Wait a week, and collect your minions. You should get around 3m in total in a week. Zealot grinding for 2 hours every day can make you around 2 - 3m in Summoning Eyes. However, grinding Zealots is extremely tedious. You can also go back to farming Wheat, Cactus, and Carrots.

Step 75: Use the money you got and buy Enchanted Lava Buckets for every Minion. That's 15 times 350k, again, which is 5.2m. At this point you minion setup might be worth around 15 million coins.

Step 76: Wait another week, grind more Zealots. After you've made around 5m coins, go to the AH and buy a Builder's Wand. Here in the game I'll be introducing a new but old way to make money, and you've already done it before: Farming.

Step 77: Buy a Jacob's Ticket from the Bazaar, and go to Anita and buy an Infinidirt Wand.

Step 78: Put the Infinidirt Wand into the Builder's Wand. Buy 3 more Stacks of Dirt from the Builder and start shaping out the farm.

Step 79: Start by building a full layer of Pumpkin (which is why you bought the Pumpkin Dicer). Refer to this video at You'll need:
- 4 Prismapump (Get a Bronze in one more event)
- 1 Magical Water Bucket (Ice V, or buy from AH)
- 1 Hoe of Greater Tilling (Get 2 Bronzes in two more events)
- 1 Basket of Seeds (Get 4 Bronzes in four more events)
- A lot of Pumpkin Seeds (buy at Farm Merchant or craft them from Pumpkins)
- Builder's Wand (you already have at this point if you are following)
- Infinidirt Wand (1 Jacob's Ticket)

Step 80: Refer to this video for Pumpkin (and Melon) farm setup.

Step 81: After you are done with your farm, farm Pumpkins until you are a high enough level.

Step 82: Compete in Pumpkin contests, you should be able to get a Bronze or even a Silver medal due to having a Pumpkin Dicer. You can also continue doing other events, like Wheat, Cactus, and Carrot, which should be easy to get.

Step 83: Once you have accumulated another 8 Bronze Medals or 4 Silver Medals, trade them into a Gold medal, and buy a Mathematical Hoe Blueprint.

Step 84: Craft the Mathematical Hoe Blueprint into a T1 Turing Sugarcane Hoe. Now, the next farm you want to build is the Sugarcane farm. For early game and mid game, Sugarcane can make alot of coins, even though Netherwart is better, but Netherwart is more for late game since you have more coins and a Netherwart Hoe is very expensive. (plus you need a legendary elephant pet and a T3 Hoe and having to switch to a different version to farm more efficiently, benefits of Sugarcane is that it is very easy to farm and increases your farming XP, but Netherwart only increases Alchemy XP, which is only good for Farming, if for late game where you have a high farming level)

Step 85: Build 3 layers of Sugarcane, refer here.

Step 86: Level up your Cane Hoe Collection (amount of crops farmed) this is for the rarity upgrade. At 100k Sugarcane, it becomes 1 rarity higher, and at 10m Sugarcane, it upgrades 1 more rarity. Rarity upgrades also increases amount of Farming XP and extra drop chance.

Step 87: Compete in Sugarcane events and infinitely farm Sugarcane until you have got 4 stacks of Enchanted Sugar and 4 stacks of Enchanted Sugarcane. This will be a tedious process, but it will be worth it. From the Jacob's events, collect 5 Stacks of Jacob's Tickets, and this will be used to upgrade the Hoe. Once it is upgraded to Max, if you have enough coins, buy a Legendary Elephant pet from the AH. You can collect your minions, grind Zealots, and farm to get the money.

Step 88: If you cannot afford an Elephant pet or is too lazy to, first get the Legendary Rabbit pet on AH, for around 800k coins.

Step 89: Farm until you have 2 stacks of enchanted Sugarcane, and sell it to an NPC for 51.2k each. This will make you around 6.4 million coins.

Step 90: Use 1.9m coins to buy a Rancher's Boots from the AH, 800k to buy 3/4 Young Dragon Armor (disincluding the Boots, enchant with Prot and Growth, reforge to Light (for speed). This will be your farming set, not a Combat Set.

Step 91 (hmm, I always consider this number to be very mysterious. it is obtained when multiplying the numbers 13 and 7 which one of them is considered by many people to be unlucky whilst the other one lucky... so 91 is also one of my lucky numbers): With the money you have left, start learning to AH flip.

Step 92: Start by flipping Wisdom 1 books. You'd have around 3.3m. Buy 16 Wisdom I Books for Cheap on BIN (sort by lowest price) and craft them into a Wisdom V Book, and then sell it for a profit. Be sure to check prices.

Step 93: Once you have 6m from flipping, buy yourself 10 t1 snow minions for 600k each. Sell your t11 Melon minions for 400k each (they will still sell, even though normal price is 350k, it is for a profit), but keep the Minion Fuel and Upgrades.

Step 94: Upgrade them to t11 and place them down, replacing your t11 Melon minions. Put the Upgrades and Fuel inside the Snow minions. Place the Medium Storages beside the Minion.

Step 95: Buy selling the rest of your t11 Melon minions, you should get around 6 million more (400k times 15), which you can use to get more Snow minions.

Step 96: 9696 Sit 9696 there 9696 and 9696 do 9696 nothing. 96969696 (sorry I've actually ran out of ideas.)

Step 97 (ok ideas are back): Farm, grind zealots, and auction flip until you have 4m coins.

Step 98: Buy yourself a full set of Strong Dragon Armor.

Step 99: Enchant with Growth V, Prot V, and Thorns III.

Step 100: As we end off this post, get yourself a Desert Island from the AH, and the adventure continues...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stay tuned for Part 2: Steps 101 - 200.

I hoped you enjoyed and this guide as helped you a lot, to help you go through the hardships of early game Skyblock.

It has a very grindy nature, so be aware, but overcome and surpass, survive and thrive, strive to play Skyblock.

And with that, I'm afraid, I've run out of time.

"Time is of the essence."
