Lainey Wilson's Recent Show Brought Out Patrick Mahomes (2024)

Lainey Wilson played Kansas City’s Power and Light district this week. She met football royalty backstage, snapping a photo of herself with Patrick Mahomes, his wife Brittany, and Travis Kelce.

Lainey captioned the post with several images to Instagram, including one of a fan holding up a sign that read: “Lainey for President,” from the Kansas City show, “We made some friends in Kansas City last night.”

Fans loved the post, and many responded. One fan wrote, “Chiefs kingdom!!! Bell bottom country!!” Another fan commented, “I agree with the sign. I’d die 20 times for my country if Lainey was president.” One more fan said, “WHAT A CREW.”

Mahomes is a big country fan and often goes backstage to meet the stars that play Kansas City. He took photos with Kane Brown backstage at a show last year.

Lainey recently scored a number-one song with HARDY on their duet “Wait In The Truck.” When it hit number one on the country charts this week, it scored a record for Lainey, who has had two consecutive No. 1 hits within three weeks, breaking the record for the shortest gap between top-charting songs on US Country Radio. Her song “Heart Like A Truck” was the first of the two songs to hit number one.

HARDY said when the duet struck number one, “I’m just so happy a song like this still has a place in country music. Thanks to everyone involved for taking this song to the top and for believing in this one.”

Wilson said, “I’m so honored HARDY asked me to join him on a song that’s had an impact on so many people and shed light on a topic a lot of folks are scared to talk about. He is one of the most brilliant songwriters I’ve ever met and puts on one heck of a show. I can’t wait to be back out on the road together this fall!”

  Lainey Wilson receives the most nods for a female artist with six nominations, including Female Artist of the Year. She is nominated in more categories than any other artist. Last year, Wilson won in both categories she was nominated in.

• Miranda Lambert

  The most-awarded artist in ACM history, Miranda Lambert, receives her record-breaking 17th Female Artist of the Year nomination (passing Reba McEntire with 16) and four other nominations. Lambert's five nominations allow her to break more records following her Triple Crown Award presented at ACM Honors in the fall.

• Luke Combs

  This is the fourth year in a row that Luke Combs is nominated for both Male Artist and Entertainer of the Year.

• Chris Stapleton

  Chris Stapleton receives four nominations, including his eighth consecutive nomination for Male Artist of the Year. He and Luke Combs are nominees for Entertainer of the Year. A win for either artist in this category will also clinch the coveted Triple Crown Award, which consists of an Entertainer of the Year win, plus wins in an act's respective New Artist (male, female, or duo or group) and Artist (Male, female, duo or group) categories.

• Cody Johnson

  Cody Johnson receives three nominations this year, making this the most ACM Award nominations he has ever received.
