How To Remove Body Hair For Good - Laser Epilation 101
Expect that complete laser hair removal usually requires about 5-8 sessions, depending on the area to be treated. Hair does not grow at the same rate everywhere, depending on the area, the intervals between sessions can range from 4-8 weeks. Thus, laser hair removal as a whole can be completed in a period of 4-8 months.
Before the actual session you should observe the following:
- The day before the session, shave the hair in the treatment area with a razor blade. It is not advisable to try to wax or epilate with an electric epilator - avoid both at least one month before the procedure.
- Our laser also works on tanned skin and different phototypes. Nevertheless, we recommend not to come with a completely fresh tan. It’s better to let your skin rest for about a week before epilation.
- If you have taken or are taking antibiotics, we do not recommend having a session until 4-6 weeks after you are off them.
- Do not apply make-up to the treatment area before the procedure.
- Avoid consuming alcoholic beverages the day before epilation.
During the treatment, you will be given special glasses to protect your eyes from the direct or reflected laser beam. Epilation is performed on pre-shaved skin, which is coated with a special hydrogel.
If you wish, we can also apply a local anesthetic to the treatment area, but our laser is so gentle that this step is not necessary in most cases.
During the procedure, you will lie back on the sofa and the specialist will press the laser epilator against your skin. The tool is equipped with its own cooling device, which makes the whole procedure even safer and more painless. The cooling device can cool the treatment area down to -4 °C.
When the laser is activated, the beam passes through the skin to the hair follicles. The intense heat of the beam destroys the hair follicles, preventing further hair formation.
The length of treatment varies according to the area to be treated. Sometimes it may take only a few minutes, for larger areas, count on tens of minutes.
One treatment can eliminate about 20% of the hairs currently in the active growth phase. After that, you have to wait until the next "batch" of hairs reaches the growth phase. Thus, about 5-6 sessions are needed to completely remove the hair.
Slight redness of the skin after the procedure is normal and need not be a concern. It will go away after a few hours. In exceptional cases, it may last for a few days, but it usually passes more quickly.
If you experience itching or mild pain after the procedure, you can cool the area with ice or we may recommend specialized ointments to soothe it.
It is important not to expose the treated area to direct sunlight (for at least one month), scratch it, mechanically irritate it, or apply make-up or deodorant.

How Long Does Laser Hair Removal Last and Other FAQ
In laser hair removal, the laser light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. This light energy is then converted into heat energy, which passes through the hair to the bulb or follicle where the hair forms. The intensity of the thermal energy damages the follicle and stops further hair growth.
You lie down on a comfortable couch, the area is coated with hydrogel and the laser device is gradually pressed against your skin. Thanks to the sophisticated cooling, the process does not hurt, and we can soothe the area with anesthetic cream. Everything takes no more than a few tens of minutes, often even less.
The entire human body is continuously regenerating and even damaged hair bulbs can recover over time. Thus, laser hair removal is not a guarantee of lifelong hair removal. Its results can last for many months and in some cases years. Hair will also not grow back to the extent it did before. Over time, however, you will need to undergo individual corrective treatments to ensure the permanence of the result.
Complete laser hair removal on a given area requires an average of 5-6 sessions, separated by intervals of 4-8 weeks. After familiarization we will agree on a suitable number of sessions for you. Overall, expect that a complete hair removal can take 4-8 months depending on the area. Corrective treatments are also recommended in the future after the epilation is complete - usually you will only need to undergo about 1-2 corrective treatments per year after that.
Laser hair removal can get rid of hair on virtually all parts of the body. However, it does not usually remove hair from the head or hair close to the eyes (eyebrow hair removal is possible).
Laser hair removal is not an invasive procedure and you can get back to your normal life soon after. However, it is not recommended to expose the epilated area to direct sunlight for at least a month, or to scratch or otherwise mechanically damage it. We also do not recommend hot baths or exposing your skin to high temperatures. You should also avoid increased physical exertion for two days after the procedure.
We will explain everything in detail during the preliminary consultation, but in general, you should abide by the following:
- Do not wax the area to be treated, do not pluck hairs from it, do not do chemical epilation or use an electric home epilator. Do this at least two weeks before your first procedure. The same applies to the period between treatments.
- On the other hand, shaving the area with a razor or razor blade the day before the procedure is recommended.
- Do not sunbathe for at least one week before the procedure. Although our laser can handle tanned skin, it is important to limit tanning before and after epilation for the overall health of the skin and maximum effectiveness of the procedure.
- At least 2 weeks before the procedure, you should stop taking antibiotics or certain other medications - we will discuss this with you in advance.
